A big Nedz welcome to our newest ambassador Richard Telford. Richard has joined the Nedz team and will be helping over the summer with all your showing queries.
A little about Richard …
Richard has been involved with horses for his whole life, having started riding at a young age. He has been producing horses professionally for over 30 years and this includes both show and event horses.
Richard produces and shows a variety of horses and ponies (ridden and in-hand) including hacks, cobs, riding horses, hunters, coloureds, ex-racehorses and mountain and moorlands (all breeds).
In addition to showing Richard has produced and competed event horses up to CCI2*. Richard also regularly competes in British Dressage competitions.
Richard has a passion for training horses and working with riders, and he regularly teaches and hosts clinics throughout the UK. He has also hosted clinics in Australia and New Zealand. Richard provides individual training and also runs clinics covering flatwork, jumping and show preparation.
Richard is on a variety of judging panels for both ride and conformation including the British Show Horse Association (*panel), Sports Horse Breeding (*panel), the Highland Pony Society, the National Pony Society and the Arab Horse Society. He thoroughly enjoys the experience of judging, and in addition to judging prestigious shows in the UK such as HOYS and the RIHS, he has also judged The Horse of the Year Show in New Zealand and The Tattersalls Ireland Show in County Meath.
Richard has won at the UK’s most prestigious shows and his results include wins and championships at HOYS, the RIHS, Olympia, Royal Windsor Horse Show, Great Yorkshire Show and The Royal Highland Show. Richard was coloured champion at HOYS in 2022 on Wot Perfection.
