Team King - Looking forward to the season ahead

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I HAD THE MOST WONDERFUL TRANSATLANTIC CROSSING IN DEC…AND NOW WANT TO SAIL ANOTHER OCEAN!

Having just done the horses BE 2017 registrations, and Emily and I having worked out plan a for each horse, I am feeling keen and eager to start the event season! Nick Rule, our brilliant farrier, came and shod all the horses on Jan 3rd and the work began.

The horses had a lovely winters break and are thoroughly enjoying working again. They will just stick to roadwork initially, gradually building up the length of the rides and the hill work to get a good base of fitness before starting schooling, jumping and fast work in February.

Becca Nicholson and Fran Anderson, our 2 new grooms are settling in well and getting into the grove of our daily routine.

Our clippers are working hard transforming the fluffy monsters into smart event horses! All passports are checked, and the necessary 'flu and tetanus boosters done by Richard Stringer our vet.

Through January Keith Evans, our equine dentist, comes to treat all the horses mouths, and the Bailey's Horse Feeds nutritionalist comes to check the individual horses and advise us on each of their diets.

Mitsubishi have just changed my long wheel base Shogun for a lovely new one. It is such a great vehicle, lovely to drive both round the lanes and on the motorway, and most importantly lots of room in the boot for feed and haylage!
