Steph updates us on her Italian adventure

After a successful trip to HOYS where Steph and Mr P scored 73.25% in the Dressage to Music competition the Croxford family packed all four of them in to their lorry and made the two day journey to La Mandria, Italy to do the CDI Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special with Mr P! "Despite getting stuck in France on the way home because of the strikes, we had a great time," she tells us. "Mr P was firing on all cylinders and went very well - particularly in the Grand Prix Special - I think he went the best yet."

"However with four out of the five judges having never seen him before (or anything like him for that matter) they didn't know quite what to make of him and we came 3rd and 4th," Steph goes on to say. "I am very pleased with him but it can be frustrating when judges mark him down - especially when he is biomechanically correct. Poor Ben was ill while we were there so we had to go searching for a doctor that spoke English in the early hours of the morning! We did promise Annabel an adventure and she certainly got it!" #

So Mr P is now having a well earned rest and fingers and toes are crossed that the pair make it on to the list for Olympia. "I have also just won the Portrait Prize which is the top amateur score from the Nationals," Steph tells us. "This is the second year in a row that we have won it and it goes to the highest percentage awarded across all the levels at the Nationals, so it is a great achievement."
