Steph Croxford - We finally made Fritzen!

Steph Croxford has been busy driving across four countries to get to Fritzen to compete and finally tick the competition of her bucket list! She updates us on how she got on

"It has been a manic few weeks with all the competitions seeming to come at once! Mr Hyde and I had some great preparation for Fritzen where we headed to Sheepgate and won both of our Grand Prix tests."

"Shortly after we headed of on our two-day trip across four countries to end up in Fritzen. I was really excited as it was my first time there. It has always been on my bucket list to go and compete there and I never quite got there with Mr P. It was amazing when we arrived, from the moment we got there to when we left we wanted for nothing. The food and alcohol available was unreal!"

"As the competition was in the alps during the night it rained and then during the day the clouds were vey low. As much as this was pretty it meant it was really hot and humid and  then the afternoons were filled with lots of little flies. Clyde was not a fan of this and unfortunately I think it effected our test quite a bit. We had a couple of costly mistakes and I was quite disappointed although when I looked at the score board we were actually mid table which really wasn’t to bad considering the competition."

"We then had a day off and went into the mountains on bikes, which was really lovely to do. We were also lucky enough to have cars which would drop us around wherever we wanted to go so we headed into town to see the Swarovski  Crystal factory and do the tour."

"On the Sunday we had the Grand Prix Special which Clyde felt a lot calmer and more relaxed in. It wasn’t so warm, with a lot less flies which I think helped however we did see a monster at B and had a little fluff going up into canter which cost us a few points but we still ended up coming 13th"

"We have also just competed in Hartpury which had some very tough competition. More on that in our next blog!"
