Mary tells us about team training and aims for the season

It's very nearly the start of the event season so we had a quick catch up with the latest sponsored rider to join the Nedz team, Mary King. "I am currently at the third team training of the year at The Unicorn Centre in Stow," she tells us. "I am here with five other Elite riders and we have training with team dressage trainer Tracey Robinson and show jump trainer Peter Murphy. Yogi Breisner is also around. We have two days here and I have bought four horses with me. Everyone is excited about a new season and we have firm aims to get our Olympic qualifications done and dusted so we don't have to end up chasing qualifiers. You have to have completed one CCI**** with a qualifying score, or two CCI***'s to be eligible so hopefully things will go to plan."

"The horses all started their work at the beginning of January and are they are all feeling very fit and well. The young horses are doing their first events at Moreton this weekend, then the middle level horses and the young horses are doing Tweseldown the following weekend. The big boys and girls start at Aldon. Imperial Cavalier and Apache Sauce are aiming for Badminton, whilst Kings Temptress - my homebred mare - and Fernhill Urco are aimed for Rolex in Kentucky the following week - so we will have a busy time of it!"

"I have also just had my role reversed. Emily, my fifteen year old daughter, has just been put on the National Junior A list squad so she went to her first team training recently and I went as groom! It was very exciting."
