Mary King tells us how she is making the most of her time off from eventing

It has been difficult month for sponsored rider Mary King, however in true optimistic 'Mary spirit' she is staying positive...

"Firstly thank you to every one who has supported me during this difficult time. Since Bramham, despite not competing, the time has flown by and am nearly half way through my suspension already. My horses always have a well earned short break in June each year and my hard working girls Emma Hartwell and Lauren Reed have a very well earned weeks holiday. I've also had a couple of holidays - one week in Egypt for Emily's 18th birthday present, where she did a Padi Open Water Diving course with Elite Diving, then a few days away to Spain with my husband and friends....I've never had such brown legs at this time of the year!"

"In between I have done two teaching clinics and also had a lovely day at Royal Ascot. Emily kindly rode my horse King Dan at his 2nd BE100 and did a respectable 28 dressage and double clear, she has three more events to do with him before I can take him back! Em has an exciting time ahead, she is hoping to get selected with either Brook or Zara for the Junior European Champs (which are at Bishops Burton in August). She has a couple of final trials to attend, and is also hoping to do the CIC*** at Barbury and the British Open Champs at Gatcombe, so exciting times ahead."

"My ghost writers and I are progressing well with the training book I am doing, it's very exciting now it is starting to take shape. My holidays have given me a great opportunity to get the proof reading done and we are on track for it to be launched at Burghley."
