Geoff gets jumped off!

Geoff Billington has had a successful month and is now gearing up to support Team GB in the Olympic Show Jumping. "We got in at Royal International and had a good show. Balloon went really well as he took a step up to the bigger classes and Upper Cut was 2nd in the Queen's Cup on the Saturday. We then went to Arena UK, which was an educational trip for two reasons. I educated the Novice horses and they educated me! In fact I fell off on the Monday - the horse was jumping a parallel in the collecting ring and jumped me clean off - I hung on for a while but after a bit of fancy footwork from the horse I came off - so I strapped up my leg with Vetwrap and yesterday (1st August) I took Upper Cut to the Area Trial at Bakewell and won it. The Area Trials accumulate points over a period of time and the best 20 qualify for the Queen Elizabeth Cup next year."

"This next week will be focusing on Team GB as I go to Greenwich to support them, then it is off to Shrewsbury Flower Show, Anglesey, Flinton Derby and finally Scope at the end of August."

We also have word from the man himself that there will be another installment of the Geoff and Oli (Townend) partnership later on this year! Watch this space...
