Mary King looks ahead to Rio!

We caught up with Mary King to reflect on 2015, but most importantly look ahead to what could be a massive 2016 in the King household!

"It's been a quieter year generally for me, with my only four star horse Kings Temptress retiring at Badminton, so just having younger horses to produce. But Emily has made up for it by progressing well as a rider, and is gradually building up a team of lovely horses and owners. To be long listed for the Olympics was a huge excitement for Emily and Brook's owner Jane, and a very proud moment for David and I. Badminton next year will be most exciting!"

Lucy Straker beats the lorry nerves!

We caught up with Lucy Straker for a quick whinge about the weather (it has been awful today!) but more importantly to hear how she is getting on five months after her accident, and how her horses are getting on now they are back in training!

"How rubbish is it that winter is on its way and the evenings are drawing in so quickly? Things on the yard are really busy and all the horses are so grateful to be spending a few more hours tucked up in their stables out of the wind and rain having the odd duvet day with their lovely thick Nedz beds!!"

Victoria Bax's team get back into work!

We caught up with Victoria Bax to find out how her horses are feeling and performing following an end of season rest, and what problem recently required the use of a step ladder!

"After 3 weeks off for the young girls and 6 weeks off for my main man they are all now feeling refreshed, are raring to go and back in work. As they have all spent time in the field during their time off, none of them have lost too much fitness at all, in fact quite the opposite! Nonetheless l spent the first week with all of them walking out hacking, wearing my Golly Galoshes to keep all legs and boots clean and dry."

Mary King sees Emily's 4* debut

We caught up with a very proud Mary King to hear all about Emily's very first 4* - the news was worth waiting for!

"I have been official groom this month! Apart from a couple of talks, I have been driver and supporter for Emily and it has been amazing to see her do so well. We went to Osberton where Dargun was just pipped to first place by 0.5 of a mark."

Victoria Bax reflects on her season

We caught up with Victoria Bax as she makes the transition from full-on eventing season to some time off. Needless to say, it's a struggle for our usually beyond busy rider to adjust to a period of no riding!

"The last few events of my season seem a distant memory now as it has already been 3 weeks since we finished, which means 3 weeks of no riding, which equates to a very bored me!"

Steph Croxford restores her confidence

We caught up with Steph Croxford to hear about her travels since "disastrous" Deauville, and how she has bounced back in October!

"After our disastrous trip to Deauville we took Mr Hyde to Vale View where he scored a 69.6% in the Grand Prix and restored our confidence. It was then full steam to the Nationals! He settled in and was quite happy, despite us arriving on the Friday evening and not being able to get into any of the arenas - so our warm up was a hack round the estate in the dusk!"
